If people turn nasty after a relationship it doesn't change any of the good times you had during the relationship. Those experiences were still as good as they ever were.

Many people turn to anger and hate as it's an easy get out for the negative emotions at the end of a relationship. It's far easier to get over a person if you can change feelings of bereavement (in my opinion the closest easy comparison) into feelings of anger. Good times were always good times though.

Man she sounds just like my girlfriend. I had a similar situation in December with my girlfriend from Taiwan. Her student visa was up for expiry and I had friends quipping that I would have to marry her. This was not really something I seriously considered. At that stage I had been seeing her for just over a year and definitely loved her, more than any girl I have ever met before.

So, instead of a marriage my thinking was, if she has to go I would evaluate how I felt about her not being here, as would she. We would speak over Skype and see how things panned out.
