Girl at the end of this vid goes 'How? How did he do that?' I am chuffed to say I know how and me and my mates do similar efforts when we go clubbing. RSD shows the way, social dynamics rule OK. I'm bored and its 3AM. If this was a poem it'd have a better ending.

It's almost preditable that people are drawn to fun. if only we could use that to our advantage in field...

Its an excellent snapshot of a basic principle and yes people are going to be drawn to someone who looks like they are having fun, that and several other things are going on here.

Further proof that the vast majoriity of people are sheep but fuck RSD an Tyler dick awesome prat, you don't need 20 hours of that knob to gain self belief.

Hey if thats what you do in night clubs you have my greatest respect, I tend to pull girls off the dancefloor and stay well away from that shinny piece of floor.

This would have been a very different situation had the guy not looked and felt like he was having a good time, people would have pointed and said look at that prat. Stong confidence seperates the two situations. I also suspect the guy was off his nut which also helped. haha

Great post like it

There was a TED talk regarding this video.

Derek Sivers: How to start a movement | Video on TED.com

Knave, I think you're misunderstanding the point, people WERE pointing and thinking look at that prat. He was just a prat until others joined him. When we go out on a limb alone like that we NEED outside support and acceptance from a few people to gain acceptance from the wider crowd. He doesn't gain value from simply being the only person with confidence enough to dance alone, he gains his value from the others that join him, otherwise he's just a lone crazy person. It's much like breakaway scientists claiming the world is round, they're just crazy people until they get support from others.

As I said, TED talk, watch it.

Its an interesting point and Ted is indeed correct but our man is not seeking approval from anyone he's having fun and people will always want a piece of that, rather than watch it. Would you rather watch someone having fun or be apart of it?

Well, for most that question depends entirely upon other factors, is aligning myself with this person going to hurt my social standing? Everyone views him as a nutjob right now I don't want that for me too. It takes a critical mass of people that are confident enough to act in order to remove the social fear problem.

Hypothetically, you're someone who worries what others think and therefore your social standing is irrelevant. What is wrong with having a good time and dancing like a loony? If you put this guy right in the middle of a crowded dance floor he'd get girls. Thats kind of where I'm going with this, why over analyse it.

Its irrelevant if the guy's freedom from outcome and high energy body gesturing are the result of being pilled up. He demo's them and almost everyone for 200 metres responds. Get with it Lol

Looks like he was gay and at it for ages with several folk coming up to mockingly dance with him, it took the funny fat guy to switch the vibe away from judgement...and everyone piled on.
