I seem to have trouble getting in a lively state.. like before I go out anywhere.. I just want to be in a better mood, instead of always feeling tired and morbid etc.. Any advice on improving my state (if this is the correct term)
Also, any advice for upbeat music for weight lifting at the gym?
Aside from nutrition, rest, modest exercise, the accepted wisdom is to warm up your state during the hours before by getting friendly and talkative with everyone...men, women and the bearded lady

Fire some awesome music on before you go out or in the car on the way there.
roll into the venue with your wing/friends palying some stupid game with each other to get you all laughing
Once you get ontop of doing regular exercise and swing your eating around it will make a massive difference to your mood, not just in how you body feels but also how you look!
When i first split with my ex i went thourgh a pahse for 6 months eating absolute shite-- id ahve a poptart for breakfast etc and i felt shit about myself.

Getting into state involves a temporary dissolution of the ego. The way to do this is to lose all sense of pride and shame - play stupid games, act like a twat, stop giving a fuck.
Most importantly of all, don't worry about state. Just have a good time and it'll come naturally.
