The Gunwitch Method (i've made about 3 posts so far and i've mentioned the GM in every post ) suggests that in these situations where the interaction becomes stale, one must persist past these by hanging in there until she walks away or becomes rude. If the set is indeed already gone then there's nothing to lose by sticking around some more?
