Default How do we know what we deserve? - 18-01-2011, 09:54 AM

We've all heard the phrase "You get what you deserve"

How do we work out exactly what we deserve...?

If we were able to alter our sense of worthiness & deserveness then this would filter through to our actions.

Obviously things such our perception of value compared to others needs to be taken into consideration as does the source and assumption of that perception.

Is action crucial to the process? Or is there more sense of entitlement which comes into play?

I need answers!!

there all just man made words... nothin what we say or think is real..

there is no just desserts, or FAIR, or morality.

it just is... our self importance has us believe we owe nature morality.

it is beyond us. killing is not immoral, being a cunt isnt... its just nature... anything nature doesn't want, it creates a solution

Along the lines of the Unified Theory of Everything.

Matter is Energy, Thought is Energy, the very process of creating Negative Thought releases this Energy into the Universe, now along the lines of Karma, somehow there are ramifications for this.

I do not know how or why, i am still trying to piece the puzzles of that Jigsaw together

this post has been totally unhelpful..lol

You can either say

A) Why am I entitled? - Because I'm so much more x,y,z, than everyone else in a here and so I am entitled. Or,

B) I am alive, i am a man and I want it - Go and approach (or do whatever)."

They are both great ways to think. Sure your ego is always going to be there, which is where finding reasons for 'self love' comes in.

On the other hand, just feeling entitled for NO REASON (just because you're you) is just as, if not more, powerful.

I think both minsets have their place and can only help your game as well as life in general.

Hope this helps :-)

I think it is more along the lines of "you get out what you put in" and this quote is often used in such situations. For example, if someone failed a test and hardly worked at all you could say they "got what they deserve" or if they worked really hard and get a good grade you could say the same thing.

With most things in life this is certainly the case as if you practice or learn alot about something, you should get good with your efforts turning into improvements.

Yes, there are exceptions, but to any "rule" there is. But I think the vast majority of time this is often right. Of course someone hard working in a job doing it well made redundant doesn't deserve to be but it could still be applied to this as when the same person gains another job he is getting what he deserves, even maybe for the better, as he may be more suited to his new job-as opportunity is often disguised as misfortune and we often therefore miss it.

So yeah I mostly agree.

Some good replies.

After some musing over this I've come up with this.

We base decisions on deservidness on our ability to live a quality life for ourselves.
The greater the quality and value we can create in our reality the greater our sense of worth becomrs.

Or in other words. Live the best possible life, settle for no less from yourself or others and you will enjoy the best possible things.
