Guys, as the subject says-- what motivates you for PUA, being here????

As a kid i was always the one left out, picked last.
sometimes i feel trapped and dead inside, unable to truly express myself

I want to be free, i dont want to be bound by rules.
I dont want to worry about what people think of me
free from fear?

Thats what i want from PUA, the confidence to be everything i can be, and i want to leave everyone i intereact with in a better state than before i arrived.

I would call this being Self-actualized

I see the skills/confidence i can develop from being here will help me in life as a whole

I see PUA as a way into high level social confidence via self confidence - the girls are just a benefit

Growing up with a lack of social skills particularly with girls and some hang ups about whether its right to be with someone unless you're in a relationship. I spent the last year or so living life making me a good life doing what I want to do, now want to learn to sample the menu before I end up commiting to someone again.

What would you say the "pick up arts" have done for you then? Were you struggling to pick up before or has it allowed you to pull more women?

I never had trouble picking up girls once I'd made that initial contact as I have LOTS to talk about, but it was the approach that I had less confidence in.

Since starting PUA I've stopped having that AA that I used to and have much more confidence when going for k/#-closes. Though I've not changed who I am in most respects I've stopped fearing rejection (not that it ever really happened), and totally realise that I am who I am, so a woman can love that, or they/I can move on. Mainly though, I've learnt to be happy in myself

While I think plenty of PU material can leave you confused and disorientated (different approaches promising a magic solution overnight). It depends how you take it. Picking out the stuff that makes a genuine difference to your life and relates to you on a personal level, i.e. not glossing over the cracks by faking it temporarily for short-term gain, can make a big difference.

In my case I'm not that into the "social improvement" bit as I have always been fine at conversations/making friends etc.

I regularly give presentations to 50 plus people so don't really suffer from shyness or "not knowing what to say".

However I do have problems with women, in the past I have definitely put them on too much of a pedestal and this has led negatively to my LTR's.

The last one I was pretty much her biatch (paying for everything, never getting sex etc).

Basically I reckon I'm pretty good socially, BUT it falls apart when I'm sexually attracted to a woman. In the past this has led to me only really getting with girls that I don't fancy. Seriously I have great relationships (non sexual) with loads of women I don't fancy.

AIM - To get into the knickers of girls I fancy and Man Up.
