There seems to be a lot conflicting advice out there (direct vs indirect). I've even been told by a girl that I am too arrogant. She is now seeing a guy who I consider a complete pussy. I'd say something in the middle. Be confident but not an arsehole. I take extreme caution even with negging now, as I have blown myself out of sets with it. The best neg is a witty (or maybe premeditated) comeback when the target has been rude to you.
