Default Has anyone bothered studying comedy? - 26-10-2010, 12:35 AM

I have never really been interested in humour, this just not mean I don't joke or laugh, I do, but it has never been of much value to me.

But I've noticed that it is powerful with many women, so I am considaring studying it , not to become a comedian, but just to a bit more funny with women.

I am just wondering if there is any TV programs , or books that may have humour in it that appeals to women. I think a lot of the stuff they find funny , may not be funny or as funny to men as women. So I am not sure which path I should take.

I am also wondering if there is any general principles that make something funny?

I think a lot of women like things that are childish or silly. Exaggeration and irony also seem to make people laugh, as well as pain and politically incorrect stuff.

I'd tend to agree about silly or exagerrated stuff, but stay clear of anything politically incorrect stuff until she's confident that you're not just a racist homophobe

Di Angelo,I have considered becoming a comic, havent yet given up but aint got time as of right now! Bk to the topic,yh makin a woman laugh is a powerful tool (got a book i can advise, but in not home right now).
What works for me is wit,by listening to what they say as well as observing what they do and commenting on it...depending on how hard she laughs you can push the boundaries...however too many jokes and you wont be seen as a potential lay,but as a funny guy which is not what you want.Use the jokes to make her feel comfy, once she is game on! hope it helps

comedy improv is great for thinking on your feet. Plus some of the games work well in set.

A good book to read is naked jape by jimmy car, its not an abc guide to writing jokes, but gets you seeing humour in things you wouldnt normally see, plus over 2000 jokes in there.

Namaste.

I have been accused of being sexist , when I asked who lies more, men or women? But many women thought the question was funny.

I actually find the question a bit funny, but I am not sure why, as I know that both men and women are prone to lies.

I am not sexist BTW lol.

Here's a way to make a woman laugh, do immature things you would have done in primary school. Say things that they found funny at the start of the night later in the night, then when they start laughing tell them that they are only laughing again to try and impress you. They will stop trying to impress you, so you come out with another witty childish joke, they will love it, you are irresistible.

Hope that helps

lee.

Also, there are two replys you can come back with at this, if they call you sexist, you reply with:

Sexist is only if I hate women, I have a mother don't I.

and if they reply with a genuine answer:

You see, the girls I hang out with say that guys are more sexist and naturally my guy friends say that girls lie more, I think that girls lie more but about small things and guys lie less but about bigger things, so it basically counters each other out.

You wouldn't believe the replys I have had to my replys.

I had one girl reply with:

Well I lied to my ex with who I slept with, I told him it was some stranger when it was his brother. Blah de blah.

No need for negs here, just plain insult and walk off, any girl who would sleep with a guys brother is not worth it ( unless she's a 9.5+)

Thanks.

What sort of immature things do you do with women?

Why do women find immature things funny? I don't.

I once threw up laughing because I saw a fat lass grinding a skinny guy and her skinny mates...

But anyway, I don't know i'll tell them I can make them sound like an indian

tell them I can make them turn their hands over without touching them, (you tell them to put their hands out in front of them and give them a visual explanation of how, then say no not like that the other way and turn your hands over too.)

I seriously don't give a shit what they think about me though, so if it flakes I'll just do something else.
Also when i'm drunk, i'm a decent flirt, I also come out with some amazing lines.

I once pulled a girl (a long time before this website) by helping a guy with a walking stick out of a taxi and shouting out to everybody in the street that im "spiderman for disabled people".

Things like that work, you can say stupid little things like,

I know your names but you are now called chick with stripes, this has also worked a few times for me.

Its hard to explain in full detail what I use because when I use it, it just comes out there and then.

In one of my field reports I tell a chinese chick that if she tries kissing me I will show her how to use serious karate. She found this funny. Its so easy to pick humorous things out of little situations.

Lee.
