Default Does anyone here think it's ok to use routines? - 11-10-2010, 04:17 PM

Does anyone think that it's socially fine to say or do something to a person that that you have previously thought to say or do in order to get a specific reaction out of that person (i.e., to use routines)?

It is definitely okay! If you were planning something to say to your friend on there birthday because you wanted a specific reaction of happiness would you think twice? Or you were planning something to say to someone at a funeral because you wanted a specific reaction of sympathy would you feel guilty for planning it?

I dont see why it should be any different for approaching a women you want to attract. Most guys have things they plan to do/say when approaching girls, its just that we probably put more thought into it.

This is a copy and paste job from something I may post later, courtesy of askMen.com

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are men who’ve forged great romances (and even careers) with an endless repertoire of impossible lines, routines and stories. And sure, executed cleverly, these scripts could build a women’s attraction to you. But, in reality, that conversation – and the relationship that follows it, can only be as good as your performance.

Feeling the need to “perform a routine” on a girl is only going to result in unnecessary anxiety. It’s lame, and frankly, it’s only cheating yourself of a real identity. Like the way a line makes you sound cheeky? Be a little cheeky. Stuck for something to say? Make an observation. Ditch the auto cue, and start being the man that you want to be

A good point by Darood. But if you do need to use routines dont feel like it is socially unacceptable!

Even before we knew what game was, we all used routines, that awesome story you your friend wants you tell or that thing that went on a few weeks back you want to mention.

That fine as long as you keep it relevant.

It’s when you start copying other people stories or flat out lying about who you are or what you've done I take offense.

To cover up your failings with glorious tales you’ve never done just hold you back as a person.

Say what you want about authenticity but it makes you a better person. To admit what you do not what you want to do.

Using routines is okay to begin with, to overcome AA, to become comfortable approaching women, to adapt etc etc and as you get involved more and more, I believe, it is a natural progression that you will eventually stop using them and either be natural, finding enough true stories about you to share with these women, finding situational stuffs to talk about (e.g. so what you drinking, etc) or going direct.

I also believe that every individual has enough interesting stories about himself to share with and hence, build attraction, with his target. If not, I suggest, every PUA should always strive to build memories rather spend endless hours reading PUA materials, chasing women....! My point is BE AN INTERESTING PERSON......
