If you use music that you wouldn't usually listen too/not really into is almost like your using 'canned music'. Not necessary. Just listen to what you want to listen to.

I generally have a playlist that consists of my current favourite songs minus the ones that could be seen as too intense, cheesy or weird!

If you can't get a good playlist from this then expand your musical tastes/knowledge. Get onto I Tunes, find some artists you like from the previews and download (not necessarily from I Tunes, but I couldn't possible comment on that!!!)
