Default My take on the 'mint body' issue (Camarda's thread) (cliffs) - 06-09-2010, 08:18 PM

Cliffs at the bottom for the lazy.

All right boys. Just been reading Camarda's post, and I thought I'd give my 2 pence, as it's an issue that is close to my heart, and I feel I have relevant experience to comment on. This is fairly long so feel free to just read the cliffs at the bottom.

Firstly, I think we have to acknowledge that, whilst anyone can pull, some men have more attractive bodies to women than others. So, what is the most attractive body to the majority of women? I believe it has to be the body that, in the 'caveman' days, would provide the best balance between strength, agility and speed, for hunting/protection purposes, as this would give the female and her offspring the best chance of survival. Now, the way to acheive this body will be different for different people. For myself, being naturally quick and agile, but not very strong and stocky, a heavier focus on weight training is required. For someone more solidly built, such as your typical rugby player, more cardio and less weight training would do the trick, as the strength and size is already there. This is something you can judge for yourself and there are plenty of resources out there to help get a good routine and diet plan.

Notice, I wrote 'for the majority of women.' Yes, some women will be swayed by huge, musclebound guys, whereas some will have a preference for twigs, but these are exceptions, fetishes if you will, just the same as a minority of guys have a preference for fat girls or female bodybuilders! The thing is, if you do happen to fit a woman's fetish (i.e be huge-like in Camarda's post), then she will make it a lot easier for you, as there aren't that many huge guys out there, and so your relative value, to her specifically, goes up. However for most, and you can try asking them yourself, there's definitely such thing as 'too much', and if you've been bodybuilding seriously for about 5 years, I think you will start to hit the point of diminishing returns.

Now, I by no means have an ideal body, or even a great body, but I have got a much better body than when I first started going to the gym. To give you an idea I started at about 10.5 stone at 6'1", now I am just over 13 stone. The difference is tangible: I feel that I get more looks, more IOIs, certainly more compliments and more attention in general than before. As it's something that can be controlled by myself, and it's a topic I'm highly interested in, I almost always ask girls whom I have already slept with, "Do you think I should try to put on more muscle?" Most say no, a few say it's already too much (rolleyes.jpg), and even fewer have said yes. I also ask whether she would have still found me attractive even if I was much skinnier. They have all said yes with the excepetion of two. However, I have heard, 'but I wouldn't fuck a fat guy' a LOT. Now, I realise that what girls say and what they mean can differ greatly, but if you're going to get the truth out of a girl, what better time than after you've both had sex and don't need to prove yourselves to each other?

I can somewhat understand guys who disregard other 'visual' factors such as conventional fashion, grooming etc, on the grounds of individuality, or simply "not giving a fuck" and letting their game do the talking. However, when it comes to your body (i.e your health), I think you are doing yourself a huge disservice if you choose to not work out (remain unhealthy). It's true that you can be reasonable healthy and not work out, but the 'alpha' males, the ones that would attract the women naturally back in the caveman days, would be at least somewhat lean, and somewhat muscular. Plus, having a good body also shows that you take pride in yourself, which is, of course, attractive.

In conclusion, I think EVERYBODY should exercise reasonably seriously; girls, boys, married people, everybody. For us guys, the primary goal should be a healthy and functional body, the secondary goal should be to have a body that makes it easier for women to be attracted to us. Know what your body type is and work out accordingly. When it comes down to it, it doesn't seem to be a 'dealbreaker' unless you are grossly over/underweight, although, why wouldn't you want to do something that is good for your health, makes you feel good and will only help when it comes to attracting women? If you do at any point achieve 'meathead' status, then yes, some girls will have a fetish/curiousity for/about that and make it very easy for you, but this is neither healthy, nor will it be attractive to the majority of women. Thoughts, comments?

Cliffs for the lazy:
-Most attractive male body is an evolutionary mix of strength of speed (in my opinion)
-Said attractive body will make it slightly easier to pull, although not a dealbreaker
-Extremes can be dealbreakers (roidhead, fat, really thin etc)
-However some girls will have fetishes for said extremes
-Everyone should work out to some degree, and eat healthily, in my opinion

whilst im honest in saying i didnt read it all coz its a BIG thread ur final thought is spot on

Seriously though, isnt it just common sense that its important to have a healthy body and a decent balanced diet anyway, for ya know your health!

^^^ Yes but I wanted to give an opinion on what that actually was. I hear the phrase 'decent body' or 'healthy body' banded around a lot, and so I wanted to try to define it.
