I hate to say it but the scouse women I saw when I was there were slight better looking. But thats just going off one night.

Its just cognitive dissonance - confronted with the idea that there was a tried and tested way to improve success with women, most guys would not be able to both accept the idea as valid, and accept that they are therefore missing out if they don't try it. Restoring consistency in their world view therefore requires denying the validity of it.

Basically most people are not mature or self aware enough to be able to just be cool and gracious about missing out on something.
