Just watched some PUA documentary on 4OD about various pick-up artists etc, and they were filming some fella on there who was called Darren aka 'i am the future'.

Apparently he was one of the first PUA's to start filming his material etc and he basically spent all his student loans etc on boot camps & seminars etc to become awesome, and to be fair, in the documentary he did come across like he was seriously good.

But he starts sorta breaking down towards the end of the documentary, does anyone know what happened to him?.. i wanted to go onto youtube & see his famous pickup videos but i think most have been taken off, which just adds to the mystery!

Any thoughts?

I saw that programme too as a newbie, even then I thought he was an idiot to spend his money on shitty bootcamps and seminars. Only stupid people do that.

Is there any wonder when he was left with nothing and started sleeping rough?

In answer to your question: I dont know what happen to him but I advise strongly NOT to waste your money on bootcamps and seminars. Ppl say there is no free lunch anymore but in the PU world, you can get everything for free, just need to look in the right place and you have come to the right forum...! Good luck!!

Iamthefuture's videos should still be knocking around somewhere. I last saw them a few months ago when checking out the video section of the Bristol lair website. All his videos are pretty much the same though. It usually involves him daygaming in London and telling girls they look like a powerpuff girl. There's also a wierd one where he peacocks in his mums dressing gown. Strange kid.

Darren didn't spend all his money on bootcamps, the documentary was just exagerated. Hes a good friend of one of my friends, and I've even been offered to have a coffee with him when he was last in Manchester but I couldn't make it.

As for the videos, they arent that great because he made them when he was still in the transition of being crap to becoming good.

In regards to where he is, I hear hes still living in London. Hear he dots around alot.

Fair cop. It's always easy to pick holes... Would love to see myself filmed trying to chat up girls... Even if it was good I'm sure I'd still cringe!

We can only make judgements based on the little we know. TheTiger, you've definitely painted him in a kinder light there. That little video does him few favours though.

MonkeyBuster, interesting point... I'm not sure I'd ever share a video of me trying to chat a girl up, but it'd be very interesting to have a look at see what we do with our bodies without realizing... I might have to ask a friend to help me out with this next time.
