so we all now that if you go on a date or you buy drinks for a girl from the start of an interaction that you are paying for her attention and its a kiss ass way to be. I would gladly pay for a meal or pay a girl into the cinema but cant help but feel is this going make me look like im paying for her time..? is she going to expect me to pay for everything from now on?

I was out with a girl before and i told myself im not paying for two of us to go bowling she is on a date with me she shud pay her own way and i need to set a certain trend, after the first or second date i would pay or alternately even. However when it came time to pay it just seemed so awkward and i felt like a complete cheap skate and stingy fuk in the back of my head so i just paid us both in.. how can you not seem like a cheap ass and i would just find it hard to talk to a girl about who pays etc..


what do you guys do when your out?

to be fair... if you ask her on a date.. u pay... if you dont wanna pay, ask her to go out as friends...

I've never paid for a date nor felt i had to.

i always pay for dates... altho all girls always offer me half... but i dont accept...

but then again i suppose its circumstantial.. its easy to say that if u have a good wage but i suppose if your earning the same as the woman she should pay half...

to me tho it depends on if you asked them out, or both agreed to meet

If you say.. can i take you out.. u should pay

if you say.. wanna meet up for a drink then both.... so u could always ask... do u wanna meet up for (date suggestion)

i cringed and said I GUARANTEE U WILL NEVER HEAR FROM HER AGAIN... he didnt... scousers have a thing about being the payer of date,

Really? I didn't know this! I never thought if I pay for my dates, Im buying her attention. If you are interesting enough, she will be paying you attention anyway. I dont think there is a fast and hard rule mate. I pay for my dates only cos I want to and I can afford to. But it is down to the individual. Just because a guy doesnt pay for the girl, it doesnt mean he is more alpha than me and vice versa..!

I've found with some Eastern European girls they expect the guy to pay for everything! I once dated a Polish girl. Although she was super fine, I only went out with her twice as both times she just expected me to pay for every round of drinks grrr.

Okay so that was in my AFC days, now if I find myself in a similar situation where I've already paid for 2 rounds and another is due I just say 'I think it's gotta be your round this time'. And the girl normally complies.

Oh about paying for dinner if she offers to pay I say we can just half it. I don't mind paying for dinner on the first date, I just won't pay for it the next time around - I would expect to go Dutch from then on unless it's a treat for her... Birthday, special occasion etc.

Go half, or round robin(pay every other time if you go out with someone more than once)

Can hard not to buy into it all though. Believe its better to split cost the meal regardless of who asked who out..don't care how good she looks ha.. if she has the attitude that some kind of cheap skate then best find out what she's like earlier than later hey..we make are own rules!
