I've done it before but you think what if her boyfriend was me. I'm not sticking up for the girl here but she didn't sound willing to cheat in this instance. By Phil's own admission, she was 'gamed' and he actively chased after her knowing she was in love with her boyfriend. In this situation I wouldn't want to get involved.

Always assume. If it's relevant they will mention it, especially if you've made your intentions known and aren't trying to sneak in under their radar.
