I'm thinking of living in Bristol. Do you think it's worth it for the Bristol nightlife? I can't think of anywhere else in the area that's going to have a good nightlife and be good for game... but the disadvantages I've noted are far from ideal so I need to know if it's worth it.
I live in Gloucester but work in nearby Cheltenham. The commute from Bristol to Gloucester is abit of a nightmare on the train I wouldnt recommend it if you can help it, a 30 minute drive can take over an hour on the train.
Cheltenham has a good night life, good selection of bars and clubs, it's not as big as Bristol but is just as eclectic. It's abit of a millionaires playground so you tend to get extremely hot women out in Cheltenham. I'm in the process of looking at apartments there.
If you fancy a night out in Cheltenahm (or even Gloucester) let me know and i'll show you the sights. Whereabouts are you going to be working in Gloucester?
Hustler's right Jack, I'd either get a place in Chelts or make sure you can drive from Bristol. Not only are the trains crap but they're always fiddling about with the line and causing delays (I had a 40 minute delay in Bath the other week, for a 10 minute journey).
I've been out in Chelts with Hustler - it's got a fine selection of ladies and is a pretty nice place to be. If you're considering Bristol though have a gander at Clifton Village and Redland, there are some tasty little places up there and if you have a root around I'm sure you could easily find one for your budget.
It's just advice, fellas. Do whatever the FUCK you wanna do
Not alot goes on in Stonehouse, it's an extension of nearby Stroud which is pretty much full of hippies and 'care in the community' types. Avoid living/going for nights out there if possible.
For £550 a month you might struggle to get a decent one bed apartment in Cheltenham or Bristol, you're money will go further in Gloucester. You can get a pretty decent apartment on the docks for that sort of money, only draw back is it's not a great a night out.
'I think its because they don't shave. And they smell.'
Exactly that Kes!
That and they never seem to have any real job. Unless of course you consider mulching apples with your bare-feet to make Organic Cider in the hope of saving the planet a real job!
