Kind of a funny thing happen to me guys. It’s that time of year where the company I work for sets a development plan and what training you will have to do for the next 12 months. They ask you for what you would like to improve on and what training you think you would like and your manager signs it off if they agree.

So I thought, wouldn’t it be cool if I get to read about stuff to help me with pickup while I’m at work! So I talk to my manager about communication training and presentation skills. He’s happy with what I’ve put forward and I start looking into our online training courses and one of them covers how people communicate (auditory, visual and kino) and mentions NLP every now and again, AWESOME!

So I have a 2nd meeting with him today and he ask’s about what I’ve been doing as regards these targets, so I tell him about this online course as though it’s something completely new to me and he says that it’s great to learn as it helps you in business and it helps you get laid!! (His comments). So I laugh at the as though it’s a load of rubbish, and we keep talking and he says he will find a book that covers personality traits as well at which point I say I’ve just started reading how to win friends and influence people, and his comment back was, your just doing this to get laid!!! I was very tempted to just say to him PUA and see what would happen, but thought twice about it.

A conversation I was very much not expecting.

Indulging in a passing perusal of Waterstones I clocked a guy in the nearby money spinner *cough* Improvement section nose deep in a copy of the Game. As I returned Howard Marks' latest to the shelf he looked up to a nod that I assumed would have fooled a Mason. Startled, he closed the book, placed it back on the shelf and moved off to take the hand of a girl, who I’m sure had a wonderful personality , pondering the snake oil *cough* Spirituality section.

Intrigued, I idly moved adjacently opposite.

I confess, evil gathered in my heart as I went over different scenarios to separate them briefly and perhaps break fight club rules but before I could they both made to leave and I watched them go. There, under the chastising blaze of the spirituality titles, I wondered if his Mrs would see it coming...
