Hi all,

I run parties/events in London, and at my last party I got chatting to a girl my friend met/introduced me to.

Conversation ended abruptly as I was working, and didn't see her for the rest of the night, so added her on FB and we've been chatting a bit since then.
The messages between us are getting progressively longer (but less frequent,) and it's all surface level stuff (travel, family, Christmas, etc.) without any real escalation or flirting, so I'm not sure how to break the cycle.

She's hot, and looks like a bit of a party girl, but her messages are very "nice and humble" so I don't think she's just angling for free stuff, but you never know.
She's probably going to come to my event at New Year, so I'll get a chance to actually chat to her then.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks mate, that makes sense.
I was just thinking that suddenly changing the tone of the convo, from polite information exchange to something more direct, especially as we didn't chat much when we met, would be a bit abrupt. I guess it depends on how you do it... Either way, I'll probably be seeing her an a week, so maybe it'd be easier to step it up then.
