Approaching at the gym -

How do I go about approaching girls at the gym? should I go more indirect as they are not expecting to be a approached ? I always see hot girls working out and feel like approaching them but i always leave it.

Thats not what I am implying I just wondered whether it would be better to approach direct or a more subtle indirect opener. But I guess it doesn't really matter as long as you approach and give it a go.
