Today I went to a local hair salon to do something with my horribly looking hair. I started to chat up the hairdresser (A beautiful Turkish woman). We talked a bit and as it turns out she is in the UK for the past 5 months and she struggles with the language a bit. She loves psychology and I suggested that she might wanna try to go for some of the lectures and just sit there and listen to the stuff. She was extremely interested in this and we had a really good talk over that. I've also mentioned a pretty good website to learn English from.

As I was walking out she reminded me about the website (I've written it down for her) and the lectures. She wanted some help with figuring out where the lectures are. I asked for her number.

She smiled and gave me the number.

Now my question is, how should I approach this? She is a bit older than me (I'm 18 and she is around 25 ish). When should I text her. Now I know that she is working until 5 o'clock as this is when the hair salon closes. I thought about taking her out for a coffee on Friday. I know this might be a bit different as I need to show a lot more maturity to get her interested and attracted. I just need some specific tips on how to play it well.

The player mentality isn't exactly the best one.

She liked you for you. Be yourself. That's your best.


Another thing, call her. Then jog her memory so she remembers.

To overcome this I would put your number in her phone and give yourelf a nickname and allow her to do it in your phone too. She sees you calling, brings back the fun memories and by-pass the re-introducing yourself.

I won't be able to call her as she deliberately told me that she would rather text as her English is not good enough. What would be your advice on when should I text her? I would like to take her out for a coffee on Friday so I guess Wednesday would be the best. What do you think?

Or you could just text her now instead of waiting till wednesday?

As for what to say, well it's upto you. Personally, if it was me, I'd just say something like "hey I'm ______ , gave you some information earlier about how to learn English online".

If she wants to reply, she will.

Don't waste so much mental energy thinking over and over again. It's exhausting. Instead, just allow the conversation to flow and in the moment.

Asking us for advice on specific shit like this might actually be counter productive. If you want to know how a mature, attractive dude would approach it, it's simple. Don't 'try to get her interested'. If she seemed interested she's interested. Don't defer to other people, act the way you want to act and trust your own judgement. Personally I don't know why you'd meet up for coffee outside of a 90s sitcom, but if that's what you want to do, just say 'let's get a coffee Friday'. Simple as.

Yeah well, she flaked. No biggie.

I firstly asked how is her day and then proposed a coffee on friday.

"I dont want to go for coffee with you anymore, are you any good at pool?
"I know you were dead set of coffee with me however theres this new bla bla bla we can go too, whens best for you"
"I did ask you for coffee, but what i really meant was lets go out and get incredibly drunk, but dont get any ideas"
"life is too short for coffee I decided we must go shopping I need to get bla bla for bla bla as its his/her bla bla, could do with your expertise"
