Default Is PUA Useful for Empoyability? - 04-02-2010, 03:44 PM

Does what it says on the tin boys. I'm at that stage of my life where the big wide world beckons, and I'm trawling through various graduate opportunities (mostly along the marketing, advertising and PR lines), one of which, interestingly, is in Manchester. Just a thought anyway.

The question is, to those who have experience in the jobs market, is all this inner game stuff (the authenticity, confidence, abundance midset and skills like frame-holding) going to be useful when it comes to dealing with employers?

Obviously, I'm going to be myself (well, to a point - after all I might tell a couple of white lies to get ahead ) but would it be advantageous to think of getting a particular job as like getting a girl I see on a night out and want to fuck the brains out of?

I should point out I'm not sure if this thread should be in this section. Jaz, do with it what you will.

It's just advice, fellas. Do whatever the FUCK you wanna do

i think this is an interesting subject.

obviously, you cant go flirting with your boss or go kino... But...

the principles, of having core-confidence, being approachable, being the sort of person that people want to od business with... they are all the sort of characteristics employers want in a person!

Besides qualifications that may be required, they tend to want a well-rounded individual, and some of the principles of PUA definately help people deisplay the right levels of confidence and dependability, which would be perfect for a prospective employee.

Soem of the most valuable PUA principles in this case would be: Vocal skills, Communication, Approachability, Trust, Comfort.

In my line of work, it is essential that i can develop trust, communicaiton and the ability to make decisions whilst maintaining the support of my colleagues is essential. PUA has definately helped me in that respect!

Picard.

'Not as usefull as literacy, Blanca.'..........Oh the irony. Unless that was intended to be a very subtle joke K

Blanca, what do you think?? I remember Jynx once telling me he breezed through a job interview and got the job after getting into this community whereas before that he felt more nervous in interview situations.

It was fear of myself that made me odd

Generally I believe it will positive for you.

All the things doing with confidence, being approachable and a social guy donīt hurt you in the job market

However if you try to hit on the interviewer, it could become interesting in not such a positive way longterm

YES! the self develpment aspect of it will make you a more confident person, then you will have great banter with the higher status people in the office and your confidance as your inner self devlops will make desision making easyer and others will show confidence in you and will lead you into promotions.
