She doesn't like ultimatums... -

Long time lurker, first time poster. I got chatting to an HB7 on OK Cupid yesterday (in fact, she initiated) and after some back and forth today I hit her with a date close. She said maybe. So I said:
'I'll hold your spot for Wednesday till 9pm tonight. After that, my offer self destructs or goes to the highest bidder.'
To which she said:
'Ha, I don't work like that. The second I am told what to do or given an ultimatum, I run far far away. Try again'.
Now I've blown it with other girls online because I haven't been firm enough. Did I go too far here? And is she actually interested enough that I should, as she says, try again? Or should I say nothing and then next her if she doesn't get back to me before the deadline? Opinions gratefully accepted.
Well, she did say try again.... I dunno, try something different, message her back and say something like:
"Haha! Ok, that's fair enough. Well I think your pretty cool & I'm going to be at X on Wednesday@9 anyways; would be good if you came along. But if not, that's cool too"
Straight off the bat she's been firm and portrayed that cheeky kinda line isn't going to wash with her; another cheeky line might be a bit of a FAIL. IMHO nothing wrong with admittedly backing down a bit and giving her the option to come along. Your wanting to meet her in person, not try and out text her in some kind of "game". You are allowed to just talk normally as well.

Quit trying to be cute or cocky funny or whatever and just be normal, set stuff up the way you would if you were meeting a mate. Girls fuck normal people, and don't let anyone tell you any different.
Also, you don't have to say HB7. Just say 'girl'
Y'all think it's bougie, I'm like, it's fine
But I'm tryin' to give you a million dollars worth of game for $9.99
