i dont have a problem opening and starting conversations but then my mind always goes blank and im just standing there like a muppet. im glad that ive crushed my major approach anxiety that was holding me back for such a long time. but i feel that its this that i cant get past now.

go out every weekend and usually get into a conversation with a random girl or somethin at a bar. but i find it hard keepin the conversation going, or letting her know of my intent.

any one got any tips, or pointers?

It's a hard one to explain when I first went out with K and swipe they told just to say whatever comes into my head.
It took me a while to fully rrealise it and I shouldn't edit thoughts and make them come into line with what I thought I should say to her.
That way you are not being yourself and it'll be hard to flow and when your concerned with the reaction of the person you're talking to it's like fishing for a positive reaction and trying to exert influence too hard.

Say whatever is in your mind or what you are interested in, if you are passionate enough she'll be drawn along with you and don't try or be worried about what she thinks.

It might take a while to trust your brain to do this, you might want to try an improv exercise where you take an object, talk about it and try and make it interesting or relate it to something in your life like a story or something that happened to you.

I've recently started to play with the idea that when i go into a set I imagine that i know everyone i am talking to, as if i'd known them for years. Think about when you go to talk to someone that you know really well, even smoking hot babes, you're not any where near as worried about running out of things to talk about as you are with people that you have just met. When you first meet someone you are so focused on giving a good first impression (which by the way is not as important as you would think) that your mind is in ten places at once and your'e not conveying your true personality. When you talk to someone that you know well, you are relaxed and not worrying about giving off a good impression, and so are able to be your tyrue self. Anyway it seems to be working for me at the moment. I can see how it might seem strange to some people taking this approach, but it allows me to bypass a lot of the social anxiety that you can get when approaching groups or super hot babes.

This is a very common and so well documented problem. It's important not to feel like you have to saying something. Hold your confidence and just enjoy your state. Be in the moment and don't feel like you need to talk or entertain anybody.
