Well I figured that seeing as I'm one of the least experienced here, I have no shame in asking all the REALLY basic questions that i REALLY SHOULD know the answer to...

So really following on from one of the other places - the question is...

"What makes a venue good for running game?"

I've been to nightclubs and can't see how you can sit down with someone and go into DHVs because shouting for that long can be uncomfortable... The only type of venue I could imagine is something like the Weatherspoons chain where they don't play music?

I might be miles off point and personally I get bored quickly at venues with no music, on the other hand ones with really lout music makes the job that much harder... Any of our UK guys know 'bar chains' that have a decent level? (starting to wish I lived in Manchester now... lol).

Anywhere you feel comfortable. For me all I have to feel is comfortable and I can usually pull. If the music is loud then dance, make eye contact, smile etc. appeal to the very basic non verbal parts of their brain.
