The virtual reality boyfriend

OK, so as some of you may know from my personal day game thread 'My First Day Game Thread', I got a hot Taiwanese girl's number in Aldi 2 weeks ago. This has been running fairly smoothly except for one annoyance. The girl has a boyfriend. So what is she doing coming out on dates with me in a skimpy miniskirt dress and cooking food for me round my house... amongst other more graphic activities... you might ask? Well this so called boyfriend is back in her native of Taiwan and apparently she only met him 2 weeks before coming to the UK. This made me think, 'how much can this guy mean to her?' I did ask her this when she first told me and she didn't resond with much. It immediately seemed to me that this guy is some sort of token boyfriend - The old chestnut where a girl or guy feel that they have to enter a relationship for the sake of not being seen to be alone.

Maybe this is because some girls and guys feel they haven't the options or might not meet someone again to get into that position of having someone. I used to feel like this, but I now realise I have the options to do something about it... thanks largely to sorting out my game. What irritates me in particular is this idea of a relationship being carried out on a computer screen - over MSN, or Skype! I have a flatmate who is doing just this and the whole thing is f*cking desperate stuff! Both him and his girlfriend are insecure and they can't see themselves ever meeting someone else (as good). My flatmate literally has this mentality of 'I got lucky'. They then get paranoid about each other's movements and end up arguing. I can hear him talking to her through the floorboards for hours. Such a waste. All this really pisses me off to be honest as people are living their lives on hope and expectations - they aren't enjoying life in the moment!!

This Taiwanese girl has been testing me to see how commited i might be to her and if I am only some sort of playboy (she assumes I have the options). I have been trying to keep things cool and told her honestly that these things take time - It's not like flicking a switch, I don't just say 'I'm in a relationship'. Now it is at the stage where I have shagged her and the boyfriend is aware of what's going on and is 'mad' with her and won't speak to her.

Now I am not into breaking up relationships but this all seems a little foolhardy to me. Some people need to take a reality check and just live life for REAL. As a result she is now confused as she genuinely wants me, but feels bad about him as 'the boyfriend'. I'm at the stage where I am really enjoying her company and would see her as more than a one off bit of fun. She really ticks a hell of a lot of boxes for me. So I do see this as worth pursuing... at the moment anyway! If it gets too messy and she really does have strong feelings for this boyfriend then I'll leave them to it.

As it stands I'll let the dust settle this week and arrange to meet her again. I have a feeling the virtual boyfriend is going to press self-destruct as the online palava breeds the paranoia. Bloody virtual reality relationships!!

I wouldn't worry to much about the 'boyfriend', sounds like he will soon be out of the picture anyway. Just give her the time and space to do what she needs to do.

Yep, Tricky Dicky indeed. Heard him shouting in his room last night and then silence as she responds through the computer speakers. Not the way to live.
