Default The best drug ever!!! - 19-09-2009, 03:32 PM

You've probably gathered from my posts that I am a newbie to this and so far i've experienced some success in my first F close. What i've realised is that there is so much more to "pickup" then this.

Last night for instance I went to the pub where many staff from work congregate on a Friday and made friends with 3 new people who I'd never spoken to before.

Today at Morrisons I had a conversation with the girl on the checkout, I wasn't trying to pull her but just be freindly. It took me a couple of minutes to think of a starting topic but once I had guess what, she responds and then starts asking me questions and we're rapport building. I left the transaction on really friendly terms and felt proud for taking the effort to do something out the ordinary, step out of my comfort zone and ultimatley make someones day a little brighter!!!

This really is fulfilling stuff and something that I feel proud to be part of!

It was about 2pm so I think I said something along the lines of "have you got long left on your shift" I said it in a really friendly tone. She said she was working until 8 I said "Thats a wounder" she said "yeah but its the first time Ive had to do a long shift in 2 years, I was meant to be in the canteen" I spotted the opportunity of picking out a positive and replied with "Well they must like you then, and its to hot to be in the canteen on a day like this (its warm up here) better being out here where its cooler and you can chat to people.

We were just locked in convo after that.

I know you only asked for the opener but thought I would include what preceded as this is where the convo really took shape.

I've started conversations with cashiers by joking that I'm not sure whether I should give her my debit card to put in the chip & pin machine or just jam it in without being told to.

I've then asked if she ever has that problem when buying stuff. Generates a bit of conversation.

I'm not demented. Honest.

Thanks for the share. I need to work on my confidence and making convosation with cashier girls could be a good way to practicing openings.

The good thing about chatting to cashiers is that it helps you get used to talking to random people, puts you in a good sociable mood and they're nearly always bored so you cheer them up too. So you really can't lose if they don't respond well it's their fault not yours (unless you are being creepy) and they are not worth talking to anyway.

It really is like having access to your own personal stash of endorphins. All you have to do is talk to people regularly and you automatically feel good.

So true!
Nothing feels better that chatting to a really responsive girl and you really cheer her up.

It becomes addictive too. I love triggering emotions in girls and bringing them into a happier state. In fact I thrive on it!
