big muscles or super low body fat?
I've noticed that even though I've put a bit of extra fat on since I've been bulking up I'm still getting more looks.
thoughts? |
It depends on the look you're going for but if you keep yourself toned and aim for 10% or less body fat, you'll still look pretty ripped...

I'm going for the big look wanna look like this.
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2-51K9qDJB...dybuilding.jpg he does have low body fat and that is my eventual aim just ate a bit too much when bulking. but that's the exact body I want. |
it's a good look though you're gonna have to be taking on like 4000kcals a day, thats a shitload of chicken and shakes!
I'm aiming more for the Brad Pitt in Snatch look but thats because I enjoy my running and cycling. Though don't forget to work on your mustache - best peacocking item a man can have! |
LOL I don't think I'm gonna grow a tash.
4000 is a bit too much a lot of peeps overdoo the kals that's what I've done. I tried to grow a goatee once but my facial hairs not fully developed yet. |
How much running do you do? I've got to get my body fat down, its too high atm :(
|
The answer is:
An above average level of muscles but being very lean with it, looks the best. Bodybuilding is an illusion - a guy with big muscles can actually look smaller than a guy with smaller muscles but who carries very low bodyfat. |

2 guys stand at a bar with a Tshirt on both in the same position holding their pint one guy massive arm -- big chunk of meat no definition second guy slihgly smaller arm but loads of defination, veins, muscle fibres you will autimatically be drawn to the second guy and think he is the most muscular leaness = Shape, definition, veins, striations another example way back when -- i used to go to night clubs wearing a baggy shirt with a tight tshirt underneath (this was before you could get in with a tshit) so i get in--take my shirt off and stick it in the cloakroom -- i get laods of attention etc -- even used to walk up to the bar and the guy would ahve my drink ready for me because i stood out so much anyway i am outside at the end of the night going home and we get talking to a guy we met in the club -- he goes ' fuck did you see that massive guy with the tight tshirt on' i go ' yeah it was me' again -bodybuilding is about creating an illusion -- take for example baggy shirt me was big muscles and tight shirt me is definition I went to a bodybuilding comp years ago and realised after 10 minutes i was stood next to Dorian Yates who was Mr Olympia -- he just looked like a big guy in a shirt --yet when he took his shirt off to guest pose he looked phenominal get my point? |
The way the brain processes attractiveness is by picking up ratio cues with the main one being waist/shoulder ratio (the infamous V shape) with 0.6 being statistically the most aesthetically pleasing to women...just as men respond to hip/waist/breast ratios.
So yeah a low body fat percentage creates a small enough waist to achieve this ratio. Note that bf% also associated with the visibility of the abs, which is also why women are biologically hardwired to like a six pack. All being said, great for the beach etc. but in a club where every dude has a top on, waist/shoulder ratio become concealed and women will pick up on other visual cues that will usually benefit the more stocky rugby guys (despite higher bf%) than the smaller guy with incredible physique. This is physical attractiveness only and no way determines the overall attractiveness of a guy to a woman. |
