Default Complete Beginner looking for Wingman [Liverpool and Surroundings] - 18-10-2010, 01:09 AM

Hi guys,

I'm new here and never went out to try some PUA stuff in field, but I'm eager in changing that. I'm a first year student in Liverpool and would like to sarge either here or preferably in citys nearby.
Sadly I think that I'm suffering from social phobia. I want to get things done now.
I hope to improve my social life by learning and practicing some PUA stuff.

So anyone interested?
Just PM me.

Hi Salce

I just wanted to give you a big high five for going down this road despite your social phobia. You're not alone there, I'm still working against my social anxiety, most people just don't understand.

Unfortunately I'm too far away to hang (Coventry) but I wish you all the best!

thanks alot

Actually im not too sure if I have social phobia, its not diagnosed afterall, never went to my doctor with that...
But most of the times i find it really hard to talk with people. Especially engaging group conversation. I fail to build rapport or sympathy in 1 on 1 conversations. Probably because Its hard for me to express myself. Sometimes I think that people get me wrong and/or think that I'm rude, but im trying to be nice it just isnt easy for me to keep a conversation going.
When I talk to friends, though, it feels much easier, and I could talk for ages with them.
Do you mind if I ask you how you are dealing with your social anxiety?

Salce

I was actually diagnosed with SA.

Its a constant feeling of being threatened, which sends your brain into 'fight or flight' mode, where your thinking ability is literally retarded.

The challenge is to remain relaxed and playful in unfamiliar social groups.

There's no silver bullet but I've found it important to keep having positive social experiences. There are drugs available which reduce anxiety symptoms, but they can have nasty side effects, its something to consider though.

Always keep your sense of humour too
