I'd recommend the Ibis hotel near the harbour side, great location for bars and clubs nearby. Pretty decent and comfortable rooms at around £50 a night, you'll struggle to find anything much cheaper in Bristol.

There are actually a couple of posh (ish) BnB's near the train station, about 25 quid a night.
