Default First field report! Feel like I am making some progress. - 09-09-2009, 09:22 PM

So this isn't the first time I have been out sarging but it is the first time I have had something worth writing about. So far I have just been making approaches and then exiting early to get used to approaches but last night was by far the best day yet.

We went to a music festival on Saturday and there were literally thousands of hot chicks everywhere and because of the atmosphere of the festival it was quite easy to make approaches. I told my friend a bit about what I am doing and he was quite interested so we decided to make some approaches. We did get quite drunk but not too steaming.

We turned it into a competition (who could make the most approaches) and whoever made the most before we finished our drink had to buy the next round. I wish I hadn't because he was very good at approaching, no fear of rejection at all.

His method was very simple, just approach them and high five. If they responded properly I would walk in and blow open the set with some routines and jokes, I was better at that mainly because of the recent things I have read etc this forum.

I think we approached at least 15 sets including mixed ones. Weren't fussy, approached anyone, 6's-10's. Ended up locked in quite a long conversation with a girl I was not attracted to, was just practicing on anyone really but this chick was very hard to exit from, virtually followed me around. Finally lost her.

Approached a large set of 6s - 8s. They were loving it, took photos of us with them, got a number close. I think it is true that girls simply do just "wanna have fun". They really appreciated us making them laugh etc

Got a second number close when the main band was on. Approached a girl who had writing on her face, joked around asking if I could sit on her shoulders, after a few routines and some dancing I said we should meet tomorrow (festival is on again today) and said "Put your digits in there". She did. (Usually I would have asked if I could have her number, not anymore)

Saw an ex girlfriend and just for a laugh ran a few routines etc on her and negged her and all of her friends in a playful way, she was very surprised, actually looked visibly shocked and commented that I was very different, she said I seemed a lot more confident and asked if I was still shy. Really enjoyed that. as usually we just have polite conversation and she walks away first. I ended the conversation this time and somehow she kept popping up here and there to say hello.

Had one bad blow out, I approached a set and was a bit drunk and just said "Where are you girls from?" was a bit in their face and just complete silence and a really weird look, just laughed it off and said "Sorry, I thought you were friendly" and walked away (shouldn't have said that maybe, should have just smiled walked off but was drunk)

Eventually my mate was the one that scored the kiss close (she was not attractive at all though but good fun). I was not bothered that I did not score a kiss close, I was happy for him, hopefully he will be a good wing man and I was just out there practicing though. There was one girl (who I got the first number close of) who I was getting some definite IOI's so should have followed through there really but was just in the mode where I wanted to approach as many sets as I wanted.

Not gonna follow through on the two number closes (didn't really build enough rapport so would probably be a bit weird) but they are my first number closes since joining this forum so pretty happy with that as usually I would just stand around at festivals with my mates, wishing I had the balls to speak to girls and getting jealous of all the guys with chicks on their shoulders and end up going home feeling pretty lonely but I am starting to feel my AFC days will soon be over!

Would really appreciate any comments or advice. Cheers.

Nice one! Sounds like you've got a pretty good wingman, a good mentality of abundance and making it fun for yourselves with the competition thing going on. 15 approaches is quite a lot so much respect and it's always nice to suprise an ex with how much you have progressed and moved on.

I wouldn't worry too much about the lack of following through as it seemed like you were just trying to do as many approaches as possible and this is a good way of getting rid of any anxiety. So the next step is to follow through and show some interest and intent. The good news is you've got past one of the main obstacles and you have approaching nailed.

"It is if he puts his balls between the strings, and strums himself to ecstasy!"

Nice one bud.

A bit selfish, but you could always use the numbers to practice text and phone game with though

'Sorry, I thought you were friendly'

I think you should say that, I like that, I'm going to use that the next time I get blown out!

A tad bitter mind. Just walk away and know that they missed out... not you.

Yeah I see your point Nova I can see how that could be regarded as bitter.

However bitterness didn't really cross my mind when I thought it seemed perfectly valid to say that. If the behaviour of a girl or group of girls is orchestrated specifically to make you feel like shit, should you accept that and just walk away? Or should you speak out and tell them that you find their behaviour unacceptable??

Saying 'Sorry, I thought you were friendly' calmly and with a smile on your face then walking away is a subtle way of saying someting to the effect of 'Your behaviour and attitude is pathetic, grow up you stupid cow!'

If you just walk-off it just reinforces to the girls that they're behaviour in treating guys like that is acceptable and unquestionable.

Sure you could tell them, but why bother? You could just communicate that you can't be bothered wasting your valuable time on them. My time is more precious than their's, so I'd rather not speak to these people.

I think Trulyjack knows he is right to think that walking away was all that was needed... Hello, goodbye, move on.
