Well I've never done it, I've always gone out with mates or arranged to go out and invited mates to go with.

But for some reason I felt like I just wanted to go out tonight randomly. I asked a couple people and they said no. I said fuck it I'm going anyway. I'd never been out in Guildford but turned out pretty good.

Stayed out for about 4 hours and got talking to a few people and to be honest, unless you have a wing man whos in on what you're up to then its actually a heck of a lot nicer to go out and just do your thing.

People ask where are you friends I just say at home probably, I felt like coming out anyway!

So to anyone whos a newbie wanting to go out but doesn't have any wings, just go anyway. Seriously you have nothing to loose and you'll probably progress quicker as you are forced to be more social.

I'll probably go out 2 nights a week now regardless of whether mates are coming or not, its nice to have broken that boundary and feels pretty sweet!

nice one, ur right it will make you much more social. also keeps it real as u have noone watching what ur doing. ur on ur own, ur intent is all that drives th night. pretty sweet i agree. might start doing the same soon.

I love going solo, my AA seems to be worse but the elation of opening is great and I've only had a 2 groups blow me out, mainly because I was too drunk once and the other because the misread my opening gambit as a racist comment (which it wasn't). A big benefit is not having to worry about mate logistics.

No close but had a really good interaction with one girl and then all her friends turned up about half hour later she introduced me to them so we hung out for ages.

I so could have closed but I had decided to keep moving on to break though more anxieties.

Sometimes it isn't about the closing, approaches or numbers, just about having fun!
