Hi All,

Just woken up from my first solo sarge and I'm feeling in the shittiest mood (it could even be a little depression!). So I was feeling pretty horny last night so I thought I'd go out with the intention of number closing 5 girls. I hadn't been out by myself ever, but felt more excited than nervous.

I literally walked into every pub and bar along the main strip. If I couldn't see any sets worth talking to, I left instantly.

1. Greenhouse, weatherspoons

Opened a 4 set by saying 'I'm new in town and am waiting for a couple of my mates to come through that door, is it cool to kill sometime?' Unfortunately, I suddenly realised I was talking to 3 older ladies with 1 girl (HB 8), maybe 19... even worse, the girl had come out with her mum who was also killing time apparently. 'You might not want to be seen with us' one of the ladies said; 'why? because your old?'. They all laughed in shock. We spoke about where I was from and small talk, then 3 of them left (including the HB 8) leaving me and a lady. I faked a phone call and said I had to leave.

Before leaving though, I saw a 5 set dressed for a hen party. I used the same opener 'waiting for 10 mins for mates...' These were considerably more difficult to crack because they didn't say 'Ok' or ask me any questions. I asked the rather young looking bridge to be (she looked 19) about the wedding... it won't last, they've only known each other 2 years and he's in the Army.

2. Weatherspoons
I went into several bars before but nothing, so I found myself in another weatherspoons at the opposite end of the high street. I clocked a 5 set (HB 8) at the bar and went over. I stood in line at the bar, breaking the 3 second rule, waiting for maybe 30 before saying anything. I was standing to the side of the group, it was pretty loud so I brushed one of the girls shoulders and opened with 'Can you explain to me, why in the name of god, do girls insist on taking out bags without a hand bag strap? you've pretty much lost the use of one of your arms!'. This group were great, plenty of laughing and I think they found me genuinely cute. I had distracted their attention from the bar on to me which was great. They asked me who I was here with, I explained the 'waiting for mates' line which seemed to work. I asked where they were going, they said MBargo's, a club which only let in mixed groups, so I asked for one of the girls numbers so they could get us in with us. NUMBER CLOSE! an HB 7.5. They get served at the bar, 3 of them leave to find a table and the one I just number closed and her friend look a bit guilty leaving me at the bar, but then leave anyway and wishes me a good night.

3. Sasparilla
I walk over to a 2 set, using the 'waiting for mates, need to kill sometime' line. I asked for there names and staight away one of them seems very apprehensive which I commented on instantly. Small talk about jobs ect. They were just singing and dancing toward one another and they weren't engaging me in any convos so I left.

4. The Ranch
I went over to a 4 set at the bar using 'waiting for mates' and straight off the bat came the comment from one of the girls; 'I've got a boyfriend' without so much as a glimpse of a smile. I explained that I really am just trying to kill sometime because I don't want to look like a loaner. They then walked off and as they were doing so, I commented on how awkward they had left me. They rolled their eyes and left the bar.

I then approach a 2 set (HB 10's... honestly, the hottest girls I've spoken to in ages, they both had fantastic bodies and looked stunning). I used the 'waiting for mates' again and I got a reaction that I hadn't previously had 'awww, of course you can!'. Very easy to chat to and it seemed to be going well, one of the girls had recently set up her own beauty therapy company and the other was a hair dresser. They went to the toliet and told me to 'wait right here'. Wanting to add value, I left the spot to sit on one of the sofas. When they came back, they looked around for me, didn't spot me and proceeded to the bar. I left it about 10 seconds before moving after them 'there you are' she said as she met with the rest of the girls (5 set, all 9's and 10's). Then I started taking on water, I couldn't think of anything to say so I asked one of the girls 'tell me one interesting thing about you'... 'I've got loads of intereting things about me' she said as she kind of rolled her eyes. 'So your going to tell me more than one fact then!' she laughed nervously and looked at her friend who hadn't heard the question, so I moved in and asked her the same thing. Again, she looked unsettled and shouted 'I love going out!'. I thought this was a lame answer but just nodded my head and said fair enough. The girl I asked the question to originally asked me, 'tell me an interesting thing about you'. 'I can kind of tell what people are thinking from body language and energy reading; heres an example; (think of a number 1 - 4, its almost always 3). She didn't seem to impressed but half heartedly asked 'how did you know that'. At this point the rest of the set moved and the 2 set followed but didn't bother following as I hate the idea of playing tag along, proper pathetic.

I then went over to another 3 set HB 7 but I can't really remember what happened. As I left I saw the 5 HB 10's and said the friends I was waiting for were down the road. They wished me good night.

5. Dragon Kiss
Walking through the door I asked the first girl I saw who was part of a set 'Is this Dragon's Kiss?' to which the responce was 'no this is dragon kiss'. I was shocked at how pedantic she was and i responded with 'oh really? I need to find Dragon's Kiss', I rolled my eyes and headed for the bar. I saw a set of HB 9's using the 'waiting for mates' to open. They said 'yeah thats fine to kill some time, but you need to buy us our drinks first.' Realizing that they were half joking I replied 'No way, I'm not made of fucking drinks, christ!' The girl who asked me started laughing, whilst another on the girls picked up a handful of straws and started inserting them into my hair! I wasn't too sure what to do so I left the continue as I'm always up for a laugh... particularly with HB 9's. When they got bored and entered back into their set I took them out and put them on the bar 'What are you doing!?' one of them joked. I can't remember what I said but it wasn't snappy. I cut my losses and approached a 2 set (HB 9 and 10) sitting down.

'you guys look perfect for this question, me and my friends were having a debate about the lack of handbag strap and how ridiculous it is. I pulled up on the sofa, saying it will easier to talk. As I did, I noted that they both looked at each other and rolled their eyes. I was sat next to the HB 10. They just said 'its just fashion...' I said 'but its retarded. The HB 10 was not interested at all, no eye contact, just constantly trying to shut me out. I eventually found out HB 10 was a make up artist for Dior. Her friend said that she only got that job because she was thick, she agreed. It was impossible to get anything from HB 10 and I could not break through the uber bitch sheild - first time I've properly come up against it. I got up and went elsewhere.

Saw a girl (HB 8) at the bar who I watched as she went over to her set. I approached one of the uglier friends in the group using the 'waiting for mates' again shortly followed by hand bags comment. One of the girls said 'tell us a chat up line' and we got talking about various ones they've heard and we had a huge laugh. Unfortunately HB 8 left to go to a club with 3 others, but it seemed that this set had merged with others to create a set of 10ish as friends of friends knew each other 'where are you friends?'.. I took the ballsy move of saying, that was a lie, I just wanted to come chat to you. One of them said that they had suspected that.

Then disaster... I look over and see a girl I recognised but couldn't tell from where then she said 'Its the guy from weatherspoons who was looking for your friends, have you found them!?' asked in away which was full of 'your full of shit'. I said yeah, they're over there at the bar. I'm pretty sure she knew I was lying as she walked passed me to leave me to the set I was in. A few mins later I made my exit.

6. The Ranch
I went back in here to see what was going on on the dance floor. Started dancing with a couple of girls who thought they were in a music video, properly into in rubbing arses and all sorts. They didn't look at all impressed that I was trying to get involved 'she's my lesbian lover'! (which I could tell was bollocks) they then had a bit of a kissing session which they both smiled about which was there purely to get rid of me.

I walked passed MBargo, thinking about the set from weatherspoons and was going to go in there, but changed my mind because all the i opened up, I told them I was waiting for friends. I couldn't turn up with no mates or I would have been torn to pieces!

7. Agora
I walked in, saw mixed set of 3 and made out like I had already been in. 'I see that you've made the smart move of dancing next to the door where its cool unlike the boiling dance floor' One of the girls (HB 3) said, yeah, you should bring the dance floor to us! I continued talking for 5 mins before leaving for the dance floor. I literally did nothing other than a bit of dancing as I think my energy had run out of wanting to approach sets and being rejected (I also think my club game is dreadful!). I chose to leave and as I did I saw HB 3 by the door. I said I was off but asked for her number. She openly gave it to me and gave me a peck on the lips.

8. Ram Bar
Approached a drunk girl at the bar who turned out to be an older lady with 2 kids and a husband (not present in the bar). Her friend came over and we started chatting about random things. I did a magic trick, making a coin dissapear from my hand.

End of night

So although I approach like 9 or 10 sets of really hot girls, I've woken up this morning feeling really pissed off. I got two numbers from a hot girl who reckons I'm full of shit and one who is pretty ugly. I don't feel that I've achieved anything, other than I can talk to girls, but I cannot flirt with them at all resulting in not being able to close effectively. Seriously considering to give up gaming because it seemed to be rejection after rejection last night... not only that, but its pretty weird to go out by yourself with the intention of purely talking to girls... ask anyone in your office.

I suggest forget the solo sargiing for now-- go out with some friends and fucking enjoy yourself, it sounds like you are forcing yourself to approach and they are either way out of your league, your in a crap creepy state--somthing is fundamentally wrong.

get out with friends, enjoy yourself forget birds-- if you pickup on any IOIs go for them.

I also think with some of those birds eyerolling me etc id want to rip their fucking eyes out

solo is tough, getting in state is tough, breaking from shitty sets is tough if theyv sort of accepted u, being independant and in control is tough. Takes a lot of practice. I listen to bluprint on my mp3 to get in state and fill time gaps when out by myself.

what do you mean by state?

I'm fairly certain I wasn't in a creepy mind set. I'm great at reading and displaying body language and I've studied drama so I'm fairly decent at presenting myself well. I also have bags of confidence so I genuinely don't know where I'm going wrong!

I do 100% agree that I need more experience sarging let alone a solo sarge... which is weird, because the first time I ever gamed was during the day, by myself and I did it on one girl which I number closed, so I don't know what I did wrong...

I heartily recommend RSD Blueprint to you, state control is the basis of modern thinking on pickup. Its the ability to control your emotional experience and share it with others. Its the feelings you have beneath the words. If you approach 1000 girls you will number close maybe 30 - 50% and most will flake. Do more approaches and you will start to get more idea of when it goes right and when it goes not so right. Its all about controlling yourself in the end.

You’ve established that you have no fear of approaching – this is MASSIVE. For most of us this is a numbers game, and in reality I don’t expect to hit it off with every girl/set. But you do need to be able to approach/open with ease to give you the chance to find out what they’re like/if they’re worth your time. And you can do that now.

Sounds like some of the hot girls were into you, but there were some logistics issues (I expect flying Han Solo doesn’t help). But hot girls obviously dig you already, that should give you enough confidence to crack on and learn from the material, forum, wings, friends, trial/error about flirting and attraction.

Agree with Maxemillion about control – that doesn’t happen overnight though. And Reflex is right about groups, relaxing and just enjoying yourself. If your goal for the night is to get 5 numbers and prove to yourself that you’re Don fucking Juan, girls will sense it, and the rejections might hurt!

Sounds like progress considering you started this a few weeks ago!

Fair play mate! This is good going! Going out on your sweeny is hard shout... I can only do it if i'm a little tipsy... or on holiday!

Fair play to go from one place to another. There's not much difference from going out on your own sometimes and going out with some of the PU crew. Strangely... I always find myself in sets on my own anyway... waiting at a bar, girls learning up against a wall... of set of 8 girls on the dance floor!

The only difference is filling the gaps in between sets. Not sure how to fill the gaps when you're on your own...(I suppose that's an open question?!?)

Cringed a bit reading this, good on you for having the balls, I don't go out solo but pretty much always approach alone and spend a fair portion of my night seperated from the people I'm out with and sometimes stay out if they go home.

Firstly if your alone your opener needs to be different, so needy and weird it's unreal to ask a group if you can hang out with them because your friends are not around, don't even mention the fact that your alone, if they ask where your friends are just say "around somewhere, I should probably find them in a bit" or "good question, not sure" and change the subject. By stating your alone and want their company, your putting yourself in a very weak position of taking their time and energy to entertain you while you wait, instead you should be aiming for a "everyone want's to talk to me, I'm the prize and your lucky that I'm going to offer some of my awesomness to you" kinda frame.

Also good to open lots of guys, it's pretty easy to find drunk social guys who are happy to have chat which makes it a lot easier, as long as your not weird about it, sometimes I'll be chatting crap to a random guy in the smoking area and just tell him to wing me and approach a couple of girls, can work pretty well. I've also had drunken nights where I've met random guys and made them my wingman for the rest of the night which can be fun. Talk to lots of people and everyone will assume you know the guys you were talking to before and your just a social guy who's confident talking to new people, smoking areas are very handy for this as it's pretty normal to leave people and go for a smoke and chat to random people.

8 bars and 10 sets excellent effort. If you're solo sarging you're in the elite.

This will turn this into 4 bars and 20 sets in no time.

You made a few fundamental errors, but do it again this Saturday and you’ll be that bit better, I’ll pm you suggestions before the weeks out.
