Just got home from the pub, and I wanted to post a quick little FR that has illustrated to me how far I have progressed and evolved so far on my
PUA journey:
Was out after work tonight just having a couple of beers with a non-
PUA friend at my local. We got talking about our weekends - his was relatively mundane (he has a 3-month old son now with his GF), while mine was
comparatively eventful!
This talk inevitably brought up discussion about what I have been doing since the start of January (ie, the start of my
PUA journey). I tried to give him a brief overview of everything to him, and regaled him about my various adventures so far: understandably he didn't quite believe any of it...
This guy has known me since we were about 5 years of age, and he has always known me to be a relatively shy and introverted person - while he knows of the various successes I have had in the past with women, he had never seen me approach a girl before, so he dismissed what I was saying as 'bullshit'.
Now, while we were sitting there drinking and discussing all this, a 2-set (both about HB6-7) came and sat on the table opposite us.
My Friend:
'All right, prove it! Open them!'
The gauntlet had been thrown; the challenge had been set. I couldn't bail out. I had to open them, or else look like a bullshitter and a chode in front of my mate.
Without thinking, I launched into the 'Inbetweeners opener' which had served me and MB so well the week before in Bristol:
Me:
'Hey, Girls! Do you watch Inbetweeners?...'
As soon as I said it, one of them started to laugh - she knew what I was going on about.
Me: (continuing)
'Oh, dont! This fucker here has been calling me Jay all night - I was hoping you two would back me up!'
They we're both really laughing now, while my mate sat there in stunned silence.
Me:
'You're not my friends!' (sulky face)
Girl 1:
'Aww, I don't think you look like him!'
Me:
'Haha, good! You are my friend! Not you though! (motioning to Girl 2)'
Girl 2:
'Oh, but I think Jay is cute!'
Me:
'Really?! Great! We can all be friends then!'
I then got up and sat with them - gave them some friendly chat for 10 or so minutes, then after a while, ejected.
I probably could have number closed, but I felt my job was done.
My friend was gobsmacked at what he had just seen.
He told me that a few months ago, he would never have thought that possible of me - he had never seen me actively approach any women, let alone get such positive reactions from them so soon.
And that is when I realised how much I have evolved as a social human being since starting all this at the beginning of January.
I'm quite proud of myself!
Much love,
Craigus
