I'm new to this, but last Friday I may have stumbled onto a little gem of an open (shame I didn’t realise its potential at the time).

I saw a 3 set standing by the quiz box at our local pub when I was ordering my drink, as look would have it the bar made gave me a 50p with my change and I was feeling a little cheeky and confident so I approached them whilst slotting some money in the machine. “Any chance of a little help then girls?” fortunately they were happy to team up with me and after a quick introduction I selected the least intense looking game (crystal maze) and we started playing.

The vibe was good a few questions in and the girls where hooking me up with some good answers so I pushed my look calling the hottest girl a “teacher’s pet” hoping to break into a spot of role play... Maybe I got a bit ahead of myself reading various articles online but it didn’t go down as well as I expected! The group laughed it off so I joined in with a little giggle and left it at that.

We were playing for about 5-10 minutes before we ended up in the ‘crystal’ at the end, button bashing to collect as many gold slips as we could (good fun but as far as the games concerned an epic fail). I hung on and made friendly conversation for another 5-10 minutes then my head got the better of me and I convinced myself I was flaking out after what seemed like a good start, so I said my farewells and rejoined my mates.

It was hard not to be proud of myself after because I’m not normally like that, but it wasn’t until a day or two after I realised the potential and thought it might be worth sharing. Firstly, I didn’t realise at the time but I got in quite a bit of ‘kino’ with the quick introduction and high fiving correct questions. Secondly, One of the questions was about Boston in the USA where I lived for a year so I could have somehow told a relevant story after with some ‘DHV’ in it.

I'll be trying it again anyhow...
