How are you gauging this though? How do you know it's not the directness itself that is creating the attraction, as opposed to the smart shirt you are wearing.

It's tricky to gauge it Nova, but if I approach someone blindly with a direct, I often notice that it works no better or worse than any other approach. Sometimes it feels like it's even worse than non direct.

If I catch someones eye first, or get an IoI, I can go in direct and it usually gives a better result than if I go indirect in that matter.

It's all just me theorizing over this though, and there is no way to prove which way is right. Just that somehow I've got an instinct for what to use on an approach, can't have to many tools in your toolbox right?

There's natural indirect and and unnatural indirect... Sometimes when you use canned stuff it can have an undertone of 'sales' shpill about it. I use indirect all the time... But only when it feels natural to do so... i.e. Stopped and chatted to a hot girl in a club about not going on the dance floor cos it was too busy... Very indirect... But felt very natural too do so... Rather pull a magic trick out my ass... Which (on both counts) would feel very unnatural!
