I went out to try my first proper day game yesterday. It was not so successful.

My plan was to ask opinions in shops of what I was buying. The first person I opened, I said do you think this would be a good present for a girl (bath salts). The girl replied, it depends on the girl and that was it. It all seemed very awkward. There was another few attempts but nothing promising atall.

If I see a HB walking down the street, I'd like to ask for directions or something but the place I live is quite small and I feel stupid because I know everywhere already. Even if i do, it's hard to esculate it to anything more than her just giving the directions and that's it.

My aim right now is to have a routine to bring a HB 8 for an instant date (like coffee) during the daytime quite easily. I figure it can't be that hard.

Anybody with any better basic tactics for opening day game in a small local area?

Try heading out of town for practice on fresh meat.

I have crippling AA which then messes me up whe I eventually approach, but I am getting 2 good mates into the game spocifically to go out of town for risk free practice.

The smaller yuor town, the more important it is to sarge elsewhere while new and inexperienced I think.

I hope someone convincingly corrects me on this cos I'd love an excuse to mercilessly chat up my locals :-)

You're thinking too specifically about the instant date, what if the girl's busy? Just plough on and keep opening. Ask directions to places you know, ask if they can recommend a good cafe, etc. With each interaction you'll learn new things about opening people in a daytime environment. For now though you're doing well, don't beat yourself up about it.

Defo agree here.. heading out to new area..has alot positives to it..by no means saying abandon yr home town..but does tend jazz me up.. more in a new environment...when home is bit familar...plus its great excuse.. to be lost in new place...believe Mystery travelled out of his way...to start with so you be in good company hey!

heres one to try, however theres a risk of seeming creepy. if you know the town well, you should be able to have a fair guess at what sort of place someone is going to, for example that little row of coffee shops by the park. so you ask where the costa is, now at this point, if you read them right, then theyll say that their going towards it now, at that point, start conversation ive only used it three times when i was DEAD sure they were heading where i thought, and got one #close, and instant date (coffee) and a brush off, LET ME KNOW HOW YOU GET ON!

I've started giving girls that don't offer an opinion a little bit of grief to try and make them more receptive. I would have gone with something like "Wow that's really helpful" with a massive grin on my face and then followed it up with "well what about you would you like to receive this as a gift". If she offers advice then if you want to really want to be cocky go against it but have a reason like is she says yes "well I think I'll leave it she's not as much of a princess as you" again said with a massive grin. At the worst you've amused yourself so why not?
