Starting quite late, I was enjoying chatting to some of the guys in the scene - rood, retro, legend, adam, sync. Lots of interesting conversation - I might have been convinced to consider opening myself to NLP too ! (but as I said, some decisions take weeks).

In 21s - opened a few sets, some of which I wasn't interested in, but opened to get myself into a good state and to actually have interesting conversation. I was annoyed at myself for not opening a few sets when I should have – I wasn’t taking the opportunities like I should have been.

Anyways, off to Social – opened a few sets in there – again, just some good conversation, and perhaps some kino escalation in one case. In one set with Adam (two blondes), one was very open and good to talk to – the other much trickier. We switched around and eventually ejected. In another set (a 3-set), I would have liked a wing, but eventually I ejected after a while. Who knows, I might see them again. Guys – if you see me in a set, after a few minutes come and wing! : )

Then with sapmi a bit later – walking to the Printworks, we open a 2-set. It turns out they are French, and struggle with English a little. Still, the conversation was fun, and we bounced them (arm in arm) to a pub. When in there, they leave for some reason. A girl must have seen this and opens me ! She asked about my bag (a subtle peacock?) – interesting opener. She was with 4 guys – I should have pushed this more. I think the one night stand could have been on.

The night seemed to be about street game. Saw some nice Asian girls on our way out of the Printworks – I opened, talked to one of them, interacted with the group a bit (mixed 5 set), and number closed one of them. As I said to Sapmi at the time, it was a bit of a tenuous number close – not much chance for interaction.
Anyways, I texted her today and she called me earlier – she wants to cook for me and I’m pretty sure I’ll see her this week. I really think it doesn’t matter sometimes – just try and close. (Sapmi – do you think this is surprising? Perhaps this will make you think about the number close a little – you were doing really well with that blonde one-set (on the street) earlier, next time you should go for the close ! : )

Later, when waiting for a bus, I opened another asian set – turns out they are from Korea, and we have a nice chat. One isn’t the most attractive, but she is the most attentive. Later we get on a bus. They are on the bus too, and a guy sits near them and looks like he is trying to open (getting himself ready). Got to keep pushing it that extra 20% - I sat next to them, blocking that guy out. We talked some, and I number closed one and made an internet connect with another (my music myspace page).

Keep pushing folks – this bad night turned into a good night. I think there are lessons for all the people on here at similar stages to me.

Keep learning, keep going.

Go out earlier.

A night of no canned openers!

If in doubt – push it that extra 20%; the number close; the opener; staying in set for a little longer; trying to make a bad night a good night…

Because of my internet problems, I will refer to this post in my field report. Yep - it's that uncomfortable 20% - I was happy that it was my first time I was involved in bouncing a set!!!
