Happened to me once. "He's got kids" my 'mate' said. The girl was shocked, cos I look quite young. Then she said "do I look like a mum?" she had a kid too and partner was long gone. I talked about what a dad needs to do and it touched a sensitive side with her. She said "I'm getting emotional now". So it turned out well.
