N closed a cute girl at my uni today (I'm a postgrad). We had a lot in common, she was pleased to talk to me.. only when I said my name I realised she knew who I was. I'd been on a couple of dates with a friend from her class - not that it lead to anything. She seemed glad to stay in touch and sent a pretty long text when I did, although she offered me her email, suggesting I should stay in touch that way. She clearly had some picture of me in her head because she said 'nice to meet you properly'.. as if we'd somehow met before.

Any way to make this work, or should I drop it? I don't know if she and this other girl are great friends or anything, but if she's going to be funny, I'd sooner not waste my time..

- cheers, Cherks

Ring her up and arrange a date. Why do you assume she will be 'funny' with you?

youve got nothing to lose mate, give her a ring if she doesnt reply text her say lets go for a quick coffee or something

but make it look like your just a friend because if she has an idea that your some sort of player chances are she wont come out not unless you look like denzel or brad pitt lol

thats my opinion anything

sounds to me like you're stuck inside your own head (is that the right phrase?), you obviously like her, so go for it, if things don't go well, at least you tried and got some experience from it, i have learnt so far that when i was telling myself 'there's no point, it wont work out between us' it was just a limiting belief, and i reckon that kind of applies here, just need to lean into your fears on this one...

hope this helps in some way

turns out she has a long term boyfriend, so I wasn't wrong to get a funny feeling. I guess it sometimes helps to go by intuition.. as long as it doesn't inhibit you completely.

TBH man, you worried over nothing here from the very start.

Stop thinking so much! Its normal to date people. You wil eventually date people who know eachother. It doesn't matter.
