Well today I set myself a challage. I told myself I was going to go to the uni library to revise and while I was there I was going to open on atleast 3 girls. Since im new to the game I thought I might aswell try get my confidence up, Iv only really picked up in clubs before. Best case scenario I get a number, worst case I get a slap

So open 1 went like this

ME: can you believe how busy it is in here
HB: Yeah its pretty packed
ME: I cant get any of the books im looking for
HB: Yeah me to, theres nothing
ME: I will lucky just to get this Computer
HB: Yeah

end of attempt
Pretty much failed since all I did was point out negative shit, I could have maybe turned it around with a "I was lucky to get a computer next to such a pretty girl" or something like that

Attempt 2 a HB came to the computer next to me

ME:Hey, how ya doin?
HB: Yeah im good. How are you
ME: Yeah me to, im trying everything not revise
HB: yeah

That burned out so i went and got lunch and snuck it in, though i should try again

ME: man, trying to sneak this sandwich, its like sneaking in drugs
She laughs and tells me a story about her sneaking stuff in, I reiterate a bit
HB: I keep getting distracted by facebook
HB: yeah its really hard, I keep getting distracted by funny stuff online
I ran out of shit to say and this is where I lost it
ME: tell me about it, I was looking at LOLcats (what the fuck!, I hate that shit!)
This is where I attempted a neg started to sound creepy
ME: I like your piercing, I wanted one like that but chickened out
HER: haha

The end! haha, pretty much fucked up and the last comment made me seem like a creep

Set 3:
I went to a computer and sat down then pretended the back was loose on the chair
ME: wow, (she looked over) that was a close one
HER: haha yeah just as well you noticed
ME: I know, so what you in for?
HER: some subject a cant remember
ME: You must be prepared, you look like the kind that studies hard
HER: well not really blah blah blah
ME: Yeah me neither blah blah
HER: so what do you do?
ME: What do you think I do?
at this point I made her play a game with me, I asked her to guess what im studying. She got it wrong so I told her archaeology
ME: I guess I just dont look like an archaeologist

At this point I ended it, I said "I didnt catch your name" she told me and i said "Maybe I'll see you around and walked off. Not sure how this attempt went but I thought it was best to leave before I fucked it up

Yeah man it was pretty dire.

A nice girl started talking to a nice girl outside though,

so although most of today was terrible and unconfortable it got rid of me being to embarrased, and that left me more happy and open to people. So good and bad day

No such thing as bad days in my opinion when you first start out, it's all about gaining the experience and making yourself and your game better from it.

Props for getting yourself out there Comedian, these are the first baby steps you need to take to get things moving. It's very easy to shy away from going out there and getting shit done, so you did well here.

Some advice - I'd echo what Kowalski said. Just go and chat to people. Don't put any pressure on the interaction, like "oh my god I've got to pull this chick" (I must admit I still do this occasionally). It's about being cool, vibing off people and turning an interaction into a pick up. Oftentimes, what begins as a perfectly normal interaction can be turned into a very smooth pickup.

Also, beware picking up girls around uni. It can get you a reputation and you don't want that kind of publicity. There's even a Facebook group at our uni:

Comedian, I think you're doing well mate, can't really see much wrong with your interactions, think you're being a bit hard on yourself saying 'I fucked up'...no you didn't son.

Well I found it alot easier to relax today, and it def showed

I got talking to two girls in there today, we chatted away for hours and had a good laugh, got their numbers. And I got a big cheesy smile and conversation with set 3 from yesterday.

I still wouldn't hesistate with chatting up girls in uni though. Being social with girls and hitting on them is normal behaviour / right action. Start allowing yourself to do this. Reputations are fleeting and to be frank are probably formed if the guy had a creepy pick up guy attitude.

Come across as relaxed and like you have the right to talk to the girl and I wouldn't imagine she'd compain.

You've also got to factor in that it's around exam time when most of the girls in there are stressed out and trying to cram in as much stuff as they can, so nice one on getting conversation going rather than getting totally blown out.

Also the riffing off what people say is an excellent point, if your brain makes a connection go with it. When I met my ladyfriend and she told me she did archaeology all I could think of was Indiana Jones. The rest of the conversation was about how to punch Nazis and lost artifacts.
