Default HeroProtagonist – Steps towards Change - 23-02-2014, 05:47 PM

So I'm 32 its been a while since I have had a girlfriend or even a one night stand I let this slide as I focused on work, I let things get out of whack. I have started to get back to a more balanced life getting fit and healthy and developing a more social fun life.

Friday

Went out focused on just saying hello to girls and trying to do a little bit of talking. It was ok I talked to 3 girls only one that I liked the look of. I talked to her for a while about the band made some jokes about our dancing styles. It seemed to be going well but then her friend joined us and I didn’t know what to do,she left then a really old drunk guy crashed into us and would not leave she went to find her friend that was it. I probably should have taken her away from the drunk guy protected her or something but I just froze.

Saturday

Again just trying to say hello to any women at all. I went out with a group I did not know well, there was a couple that were good fun chatted to the girl not to chat her up her boyfriend was right there just to get into the chatting mood. It was strange though later in the night I found out they were not a couple I had picked it up all wrong. This woman who I had been having a good laugh with I suddenly couldn’t talk to at all, it just became completely rigid.
I talked to 3 women 1 married, 1 boyfriend appeared while we were chatting and the last one just drifted away. So no numbers or anything again but positive experience the girls I met were nice.
Met a guy out, I have seen him with some really nice women. I tried to see what it was he does right but he just seemed to be out to have a good time talked to everyone, he got a bit drunk and chatted to every attractive woman who walked past I mean everyone in every part of the night, the pub, the club, McDonalds, the taxi rank. In the end he got no one but didn’t seem to care.
I will only be able to go out twice a week at the moment but trying to make the most of it next time I will try and talk to 6 women each night.

Small positive changes add up.

Sounds like you are in a similar situation to me when I got into this a while ago. I had also become too work focused and let the social side of things slide.

When you start trying to re-balance things you can feel the gears grinding. But you seem to have a plan and are prepared to keep trying which is a key thing.

There's no quick fixes. It just takes time and persistence and it'll gradually start to get easier.

Yeah thanks I'm trying to take the long view and focus on small improvements and like you said being persistent.
