Default Improv - 22-02-2013, 01:29 PM

Well I have to start off with saying that was probably one of the best nights out I've had in a long while, meeting up in the Waldorf for a bit of improvisational comedy and general dicking about! Meeting up with Shaha, Framejacker, latch, kowalski. Had a few drinks and few drinks and practiced a few games (to which I confess to not remembering the name of), the goal of which to generally loosen up a bit and get you used to thinking on your feet, something of which I've not done in a while!

So I'm not claiming to be a 'thespian' (although I now know the origin of the word!) but I used to practice drama and a bit of theater when I was younger, something I grew out of so it was really cool to get back into it. And it did a very good job of loosening me up as we headed to fifth avenue later on.

I'd not been there before but I can certainly say I love it, sticky floors, cheap drinks, disgruntled bouncers. I love students! We met up with Jynx who had not succeeded in finding the right venue for the improv after visiting what must have been every other bar in Manchester. Tried a few opening sets and having several Sol/Sambuca mixed drinks (lethal!) and losing folk repeatedly.

So as far as sets go there were several short lived but three of which I can take note of!

First: Start talking to a girl on the dancefloor, she did later appear to be quite drunk getting positive feedback until her friend dragged her off and her 'boyfriend' threatened me! Ha!
Second: A girl randomly kissed me in front of the lad she was chatting to! Made me laugh a bit
Third: A friend of a girl I was having a bit of small talk with, really nice we kissed, we danced, and exchanged numbers, with D2 for tomorrow!

So all in all, a pretty fucking sweet night, cheers guys looking forward to next week!

So following D2, really unsure how to take it. We met in the Cornerhouse and had a couple pots of tea, she seemed nice but really quiet and almost subdued. I was quite hungover myself but it was pretty much just me talking and chatting shit for an hour we walked back into town as she had to go get her camera fixed. I went in for a kiss, she didn't resist but she looked a bit awkward, I'm not quite sure if it was just fear of public affection or whether she just wasn't into it. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it, out sarging in Didsbury tonight so that should loosen me up a little bit!

It was pretty casual to be fair, I was (and still am) a little hungover so I didn't put much thought into it. Were still texting and she seems pretty receptive, maybe I just caught her offguard...
