Default Relapse - 25-10-2009, 05:55 PM

A couple of years back, in my last year if uni, I read 'The Game' after a recommendation from a housemate. We then spent the final year of university implementing what we had learnt and finding it effective. It also helped that we were generally going out as a pair and not drinking as much on a night.

Anyway, this was all going well when I packed my bags for a month's travelling around Thailand. Continuing to apply the book, on a very basic level, I was enjoying myself. This was until one night in Ko Samui. We went out to a number of bars that were full of sex tourists. The Thai women were trying to find their potential husbands, and it was very off putting seeing 50 year old over-weight losers buying them drinks. As a result of this, the friend I was travelling with and I approached the only two Western girls that we could see and this is where the embarassment started.

I had been using the cube technique, finding that it was effective, though not by any means suggesting that it never failed me [or I never failed it]. Anyway, I spoke to this girl for a bit before completing the cube. She let me do this and then looked at me like a pathetic goon and told me that she had red the game. I am not easily embarassed, but I have too much pride at times which is a flaw of mine. I had been found out and did not enjoy the feeling.

Up until recently I have not applied any pre-planned strategies, forgetting the fact that the game is not just about these strategies, but also a broader guidance on how to portray yourself to women and more generally. This was until recently.

Having recently moved to a new city I have been meeting a number of new people. However, not through lack of trying, have had little success with women. I get looks and attention, but recently have been drinking too much on nights out to really have decent chat. After a recent visit from the friend that introduced me to 'The Game', he adviced me to return to it.

I'm looking forward to reading other's insightful posts and will hopefully be adding the forum to another fun hobby of mine.

Take care

SobaBoy
