Try and get a bit more active you'll find its probably zapping most of your energy by not going to the gym so try running or something that will keep you active but doesn't necessarily cost money or take you too far out of the way of your normal regime. You get off at the exchange quay tram stop right? Get off at Salford Quays instead and walk the rest, its great time for a bit of reflection before starting work.

I'll be joining you for Stoptober (drink) so stick with that one.

As far as spending goes, first commit yourself to logging everything you spend. I use CashControl (Google Chrome web app), it has an Android and iPhone app too. Once you start seeing how much you spend normally in a month (without budgeting) you can start to curb your spends, and you'll find that it will actually occur naturally since you have full visibility of what your spending. Get into a regular habit of doing it, and stick with it.
Small steps mate, small steps.
