To upload, click through to advanced editing. Then next to the smiley face button their is an attachments button (as normal, it is represented by a paperclip). Click on that and you come to a screen with normal upload options from your phone or computer.

I think when you do that you only get thumbnails in the post and people have to click through to see the images or whatever other file type you have attached.
