As Phil said go out and talk to them! It's like anything else you do the more you do it the better you get at it and the more comfortable you are doing it.

The way that I got better at talking to girls was focusing on one thing at a time, so to begin with I'd just aim to "open". Then when I had that down aim to have a good conversation (like I'd have with my friends). Next I worked on building physical rapore and eventually I worked on sealing the deal.

What I found was I'd often have so much fun with my friends and meeting people on a night out I'd just not bother with following anything up!
