Not sure about those affirmations, the words "need" and "supposed", in and of themselves pre-suppose that you're not there already, so will be partially counter productive to the brain.
The spin that Arnie puts on it, is to think and behave as if it is the case NOW so it's less ambiguous to the brain. Least that's how I think affirmations are supposed to be conducted...
