You ever read "In a different voice: psychological theory and women's development" by Carol Gilligan?
It's heavy going, but in it she describes the developmental differences between boys and girls in social situations that involve moral/ethical obstacles during childhood. It makes for uneasy reading to learn how different the genders are in some ways.
