I recently took up meditation, like a month and a half ago and I am finding it great. At first I was very fidgety, so I started off very small indeed, ie five minutes, which soon became ten, then fifteen and now twenty.

At the moment, as I have the time, I am meditating three times a day; 15 minutes in the morning, 15 in the afternoon, and 20 in the evening. I want to keep adding more and more minutes. I'd like to get up to one hour, if I can, partly for the challenge but mostly for the short term and long term benefits.

I know that, idealy, I should be sitting cross legged, or even in the lotus position on the floor, but I find that I am much more comfortable just sitting upright on a plastic chair and I have read that this is perfectly fine.

I wanted to know if anybody else into it? How long do you do it for, and what benefits have you gained from it?

It might be fun to have a challenge and see who can meditate for the longest period of time.
