Outcome dependancy will make you shit your pants as soon as the interaction will not follow your script. But controling the frame and leading conversation will insure that the flame doesn't die, and avoid you from entering tricky subjects. This doesn't prevent the chat from flowing though.
If people think they need a script to start and maintain a conversation, the first piece of advice that comes in mind is to get a life(style). Then it will run smoothly.
Having interaction just for the sake of being social is fun and pleasant, but having interaction while having in mind the outcome to pull the chick by following a canned line will insure crashing and burning. You will appear as creepy as soon as she won't give you what you expect, and 'pickup' will be flashing in bright red letters on your forehead.
